Michael A. Buhagiar

Michael A. Buhagiar is senior lecturer in mathematics education at the Faculty of Education, University of Malta. His lecturing and research interests focus primarily on assessment, inquiry-based learning, reflective practice and school-based mentoring. Dr Buhagiar is an experienced researcher who enjoys collaborating on projects, both local and international, that aim primarily to bring about change. For instance, he developed and co-ordinated the local research project Strengthening the Formative Dimension of Teaching Practice through School-based Mentoring (SForD-TP / 2013-2014). Michael’s international participation includes being a member of the University of Malta teams on two EU-funded research projects: (i) Capacity Development of Faculties of Education in International Approaches to Teacher Education (CDFE / 2013-2015); and (ii) Promoting Inquiry in Mathematics and Science Education across Europe (PRIMAS / 2010-2013).
